Privacy policy.
How we handle your personal information, in plain English.
Last updated · 25 April 2026
This policy explains how Altiora Advisory, a trading name of LEBC Pty Ltd (ABN 72 690 549 038, Tax Agent 26 266 057) collects, uses, stores, and protects personal information. We handle your information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
This policy covers information collected through our website, contact form, email correspondence, and the services we provide. Where our services involve additional obligations (for example, tax file numbers are covered by the Taxation Administration Act 1953 and the TFN Rule), those obligations apply on top of this policy.
What we collect.
We only collect information that we need to respond to enquiries or deliver our services. This typically includes:
Contact details. Name, email address, phone number, and any message content you provide when you fill in our contact form or email us directly.
Client information. For clients we work with, we also collect identification details (driver licence, passport), tax file numbers, financial and accounting data, and any other information required to provide our services and meet our professional obligations.
Website analytics. When you visit the site, we may collect anonymised technical information such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and referral source, through privacy-respecting analytics. This information is used in aggregate and does not, on its own, identify you.
Cookies. See our cookie policy.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 through this website. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Why we collect it.
We collect personal information so that we can:
- respond to enquiries and prospective-client conversations;
- provide tax, accounting, and advisory services, including preparing and lodging returns with the ATO;
- meet our legal and professional obligations as a registered tax agent and accounting practice;
- improve our website and understand how it is used.
How we store it.
Your information is stored in reputable cloud-based business systems, including our practice management and accounting platforms and secure email. Access to these systems is protected by strong passwords, multi-factor authentication, and role-based permissions.
Some of our providers may store data outside Australia. Where that is the case, we take reasonable steps to ensure those providers handle information consistently with the APPs. We will not disclose your personal information to an overseas recipient unless we are satisfied the recipient is subject to comparable protections or unless you have consented.
Who has access.
Access to your personal information is limited to Byron and Shannon, the two partners of Altiora Advisory. We do not share your information with third parties for marketing. We may share information where it is necessary to provide our services (for example, with the ATO or a software provider we use to deliver the service), where you have consented, or where we are required to by law, including under the Tax Agent Services Act 2009 and related legislation.
Cookies.
This website sets no tracking cookies of its own. If analytics are enabled, they are either cookieless or set only after you opt in. You can change your preferences at any time by clearing cookies in your browser. See the cookie policy for detail.
Your rights.
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:
- request access to the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant, or misleading;
- ask us to delete information where we are not required to keep it for legal or professional reasons;
- opt out of analytics at any time.
To make a request, email admin@altioraadvisory.com.au. We will respond within 30 days. There is no fee for making a request, though we may charge a reasonable fee for the costs of providing copies of information in some cases.
How long we keep information.
Client records are retained for the period required by tax and professional standards legislation, which is generally at least five years after the end of the engagement. Enquiries that don’t lead to an engagement are retained for a shorter period and deleted when no longer needed.
Complaints.
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us at admin@altioraadvisory.com.au with the details. We will acknowledge your complaint within five business days and aim to resolve it within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can raise the complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
